All students receive a copy of their syllabus on day 2 of school. After families have a chance to review and return the permission slip, students will put their syllabus in their notebooks for review as needed. 

• 1-2 Composition Notebooks (no spirals) - used DAILY

• Highlighters - used regularly 

• Pens/Pencils - I do not provide daily pencils, please bring your own

• Sticky Notes - annotation tools are important 

• Book - students will need a personal book to read daily

Each week students have a minimum of two assignments to complete. Yes, there will sometimes be more...

1. Article of the Week (AOW) - the article of the week is an article that students are given every Monday. They complete annotations and turn in by Wednesday. On Friday, students receive their AOW back, and complete an in-class assignment with the article, due the same day. 

2. Vocabulary - students receive vocabulary to practice each week. They receive their vocab on Tuesday and it is due on Thursday. 

If your student makes the 'I don't have homework' statement...please ask if they have completed their English Vocab and AOW.
